Class Description

Human Terrain Mapping and Behavior Pattern Recognition is a science-based predictive analysis and proactive decision-making model. It is based upon lessons learned from the development of Human Behavior Pattern Recognition and Analysis programs for the Department of Defense. HTMBPR focuses on developing advanced critical thinking by understanding human behavior patterns. It provides a framework for First Responders to observe, articulate, document and support decisions that they make in the course of performing their duties by providing responders with the knowledge, skills and abilities to 1) observe a situation, orient themselves within it, and make sound practical decisions in accordance with law and agency policy and procedure, and 2) then take legal, moral and ethically appropriate action(s).
