CARDIAC ARREST vs HEART ATTACK - Do you know the difference?
People often use these terms interchangeably, but they are not the same.
CARDIAC ARREST occurs when the heart malfunctions and stops beating unexpectedly.
Cardiac arrest is an “ELECTRICAL” problem.
A HEART ATTACK occurs when blood flowing to the heart is blocked. A heart attack is a “CIRCULATION” problem.
It’s important to catch them early and call 9-1-1 for help.
The sooner medical treatment begins, the better the
chances of survival and preventing heart damage.
