Instructor BIO:

Kevin McAvenia has been involved in public safety since 2002 when he first became an explorer at his local volunteer fire department in Central NJ. Since then, he has provided services in dense, high-volume urban systems, affluent suburban systems, and rural systems with response and transport times exceeding 45 minutes. Additionally he has provided fire, EMS, HAZMAT and technical rescue services throughout the world, focusing on the Middle East and North Africa. He specializes in medical management of CBRN casualties and is a graduate of numerous advanced and specialized courses from the DoD and other Federal agencies. He has served as a live agent instructor at the Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston, AL, holds instructor credentials through three Federal agencies, and is a master instructional systems designer. He has spent the past several years as a contractor supporting various Federal agencies in CBRN and emergency management roles.
